A Tribute to GreenFoot Last Christmas

Caring for the environment is not just an item in our to-do lists that one can easily tick off–it needs to be done repeatedly until good habits are formed, mindsets renewed, and then it should become a lifestyle. It is no easy feat but we must #GreenOn.

Early last year, major changes in life brought us to Bataan. And what was supposedly a one-month-in and one-month-out arrangement turned into a longterm commitment. This place is now our new home. And since the events transpired so fast, all of the stuff we have accumulated for the past 6-7 years or at least two-thirds of it are still left in Manila including our Christmas ornaments.

It was a hassle to have all of the decor sent to Bataan just for this year’s Christmas and it would be unwise to buy new ones, too. So the family got a little resourceful and imaginative in our attempt to come up with a Christmas tree for Christmas 2021. It’s not much, it still needs a lot of improvement, but the kids had a lot of fun–that’s most important.

We also found this great Christmas book, Rediscover Christmas, that included thirty-one punch-out ornaments in it. It surely made our Christmas more meaningful and colorful, too!

As we face a fresh year, we continue to bring with us our dream to better care for our environment wherever life brings us until it becomes fully real in our lives. Until then, no matter how little or faint, let’s continue to leave a GreenFoot print starting today!
